“God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4.24)
As Christians we set aside time specifically to worship God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our worship takes place in different ways. At St Anne’s we have daily prayers in Trinity Chapel. During this time of prayer, we hear God speak in the Bible, and respond in prayer and praise.
Our main time of worship in on Sunday morning at 10am when we share in a Sung Eucharist. This service is set within the context of a sung liturgy (prayers that are sung). In the Eucharist we share symbolically in the heavenly feast of bread and wine. We also believe that in this sharing we are united with all who God and all who believe. During this service, like Morning Prayer, we listen for God’s voice in readings from the bible, in our singing, in the sermon and from one another. We also offer our prayer and praise. For part of our service the children have their own lessons and at the end the service there is a presentation from the children about what they have heard.
In and through worship we offer ourselves to God, opening ourselves to God’s grace that, in Christ, we may serve God in the world.
