Worship and Young People

Sunday School

Our Sunday School takes place during the main Sunday service, with dedicated teachers (all CRB disclosed) who create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in which the children work on a main story or passage of scripture for that Sunday. The children come back into the service to receive a Blessing or (many of the older ones / teenagers) Communion, and towards the end of the service we have up to three presentations from different age groups – Junior, Middle and Senior.

Music in Worship

Our hymn choices include those with our young people very much in mind. We also have their particular input each month, with solo music just before the service and with our young people`s St Anne`s Music Ensemble during Communion – with a variety of instruments from strings to wind to percussion.

Music

We also support the junior section of our community choir `Queens Park Singers`, directed by Mary Phillips who regularly perform at church within QPS concerts.

Nativity Play

We are hugely blessed by all that goes into this annual presentation and at the work undertaken by young and old alike. The `plays` happily combine both festive / pantomime fun with moments of real quiet and reflection on the profound mystery of God coming among us as the babe at Bethlehem, each year on the last weekend in Advent.

Fair Trade

Our older young people run a Fair Trade Stall in the Rotunda where we have coffee after the Sunday Parish Communion. They work together to help order for the stall and to set it up each week and sell from it a wide variety of Fair Trade goods from coffee to chocolate to wine and much else besides.
